FAQs

  • I typically support established B2B companies - both service and product-based - that have an in-house marketing team. My main point of contact is often a Head of Marketing, Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, or CMO. I also work with select B2C brands where there’s a strong strategic fit.

If you’ve got a marketing team in place and a budget to invest in long-term organic growth, we’ll likely be a good match.

For values alignment, I don’t work with payday lenders, gambling companies, diet or weight loss products, vaping or tobacco brands, fast fashion retailers, or any business that may negatively impact quality of life.

  • Most clients work with me on a monthly SEO retainer, where I dedicate an agreed number of hours to their SEO for a set fee. My retainers typically range from £1,200 - £3,000 per month.

I also offer one-off SEO projects, which I can price based on specific requirements.

  • I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all SEO packages like Gold, Silver, or Bronze because they focus on output rather than outcomes.

Every business has unique challenges, goals, and resources, and in my experience, fixed packages tend to lead to unnecessary work in some areas while neglecting important work in others.

Instead, I take a bespoke, results-driven approach, ensuring that SEO efforts are tailored to deliver the most efficient and impactful results with available resources. This way, you’re not paying for a predefined list of tasks; you’re investing in a strategy that actually helps your business grow.

  • In practice, I’m a bit of all three.

Like a freelancer, I’m independent, flexible, and hands-on with delivery. Like a consultant, I bring strategic thinking, senior-level experience, and a focus on solving business problems. And like a fractional SEO, I work as an extension of your team, acting as your go-to SEO lead without the overhead of a full-time hire.

What I’m not is an agency. When you work with me, you get me, not layers of account management, delegation, or junior delivery.

  • Yes. You can read more about that here.

  • I think like a marketer, not just a technician. I look for angles others miss, whether that’s untapped content opportunities or smarter ways to connect with your audience.

I don’t follow rigid checklists. SEO isn’t just about pleasing algorithms; it’s about understanding people. When you focus on what your audience actually cares about, the creative side of SEO naturally comes through.

  • I typically ask for an initial minimum commitment of three months for retained work. After that, my services will continue on a rolling basis with a 30-day notice period from either side. This approach ensures flexibility while allowing enough time to see meaningful results.

  • The first three months are about laying strong foundations. We’ll audit performance, review your technical setup, analyse competitors, and identify quick wins. Alongside this, we’ll develop a clear SEO strategy based on keyword research, intent mapping, and topical clustering - all tied to your growth goals. You’ll get a prioritised action plan that sets the direction for ongoing work.

After that, we focus on implementation, optimisation, and momentum. I’ll work alongside you and your team to keep things moving - refining content, improving site structure, and briefing in new pages where needed.

You’ll also get ongoing SEO support and guidance, with regular check-ins to adjust the strategy based on results, business changes, or new opportunities.

  • I always prioritise quick wins. If there are opportunities to make an immediate impact, we’ll act on them straight away. That said, timelines vary. Established sites often see progress faster, while newer sites usually take longer to gain traction.

How quickly we move also depends on available resources - things like developer time, copywriting capacity, and internal sign-off processes all affect implementation speed.

In general, meaningful SEO results are measured in months, not weeks. It’s a long-term investment, but we’ll focus on early momentum and steady growth.

  • My role is primarily strategy-focused. I’ll tell you what needs to be done, when, and why. I typically don’t implement changes myself, because:

    a) Development and copywriting aren’t my core specialisms.

    b) It’s usually not the best use of either your budget or my time.

Instead, I focus on giving you clear, actionable directions so your team (or partners) can execute efficiently and effectively.

  • No. But I'd be happy to recommend someone who does!

If I think I can help, we’ll set up a call to discuss things in more detail. If we’re a good fit, I’ll then put together a proposal outlining the recommended approach, scope, and costs.
